Swallowtail and Thistle

Spotted this butterfly while driving up to the cabin in Lime Canyon. Amazingly, it didn't fly away when I slammed on the breaks, jumped out and started taking pictures. What I didn't know was that there was a group of little girls playing on the other side of the bushes. One of them must have run inside and told her mommy that there is a man outside taking our picture. I didn't know the girls were there until this women came storming out of the cabin asking me if she "could help me". My first thought was: excellent, could you block the sun on the background (thought it might make for a more dramatic look to have the background a little darker), but I don't think that's what she had in mind. Happily, the butterfly didn't fly away and I pointed out what I was doing. She turns around and goes into the house and brings out a little girl with a butterfly net, who caught it and stuck it in a box...oh well, what are you going to do.
